THE MAGIC OF TUSCANY with DORI BETH

I am so thrilled and excited for a 10 day get away to Tuscany ! Come paint with me under the magical Tuscan sun. We will stay at a 200 year old villa, where everywhere you look is a painting waiting for you to create! Each day we will dine on original Italian cuisine that inspires anyone’s “palette.” We will have many excursions and adventures to explore the Regional countryside and towns. I will teach four - 3 hour sessions, where I do demos and assist each students to help them complete 2 paintings to take home. You will learn a number of techniques working with watercolors. In Lucca there is a wonderful little art store that only an artist can appreciate. Beginners and advance students will be inspired beyond their wildest imagination in the atmosphere of romantic Tuscany. This is an adventure that you will draw upon for the rest of your life.

Day by Day Workshop Schedule

  1. Day 1: 14th The arrival day! Group will be picked up from Pisa/Florence airport or Lucca station between 3-5pm. Arrival, unpack, settle in Villa, time to rest. Around 6:00pm, welcome gathering with Dori and Karolina including day-to-day schedule and workshop plan, goals, and challenges. Dinner – Karolina’s favorite Tuscan delights.
  2. Day 2: 15th Breakfast served 8:00-9:00 , 9:30am first instructional session with Dori. Lunch at 1:00pm under pergola prepared by our Chef. Post lunch is time to start limoncello :) at 2:30pm departure for wine tasting – Maria Teresa at Pieve Santo Stefano .Back home 6:00pm , dinner with your chef 7:00pm
  3. Day 3: 16th Lucca day! After breakfast group will depart to The town of Lucca 10.30am,You will enjoy guided walking tour , later you will have time for Your personal shopping , exploring , lunch (on own ). Departure at 4:00pm , back home time to relax , dinner 7:00pm
  4. Day 4: 17th Breakfast 8:30-9:30 am , session with Domi Allan 10:00am - our Cyanotype artist start at 10:00am , Lunch home 1:30pm , after lunch free time , meeting Dori at 3:30pm in the studio, Dinner by chef Karolina 7:00pm
  5. Day 5: 18th Breakfast 8:30-9:30am, Departure 10.00am to Villa Torrigiani – stuning historical villa in Cappanori -guided tour of villa afterwards time to sketch in the garden with Dori . Lunch at villa Maionchi with wine tasting, Back home , Time to relax , time in the studio with Dori 4.30-6.30pm, dinner with Karolina at 7.00pm
  6. Day 6: 19th Breakfast at 8:30-9:30am day trip to Chianti !!! On the way we will make few stops to make pictures and take inspiration for Your paintings. Lunch in Panzano – Famous Mad Butcher – Dario Cecchini – On the way back we will stop in beautiful little town called Greve di Chianti-You will have free time to shop and walk around and ofcourse take a picture with famous Black Rooster statue . Return home 5:00pm , dinner by Luciana 7:00pm
  7. Day 7: 20th Home day ,Breakfast at 8:30-9:30am , session with Dori 10.00-1.00. Lunch served 1:30pm. Afternoon cooking class with chef Karolina start at 4:30pm . Dinner for everyone 7:00pm , There will be massages available if You don’t like to cook ;)
  8. Day 8: 21th Liguria day ! Departure at 8:00am-breakfast in oldest pasticeria in Lucca (cultural experience!) Departure to iddylic Portofino-town of Romance !!! the most famous seaside town on the Italiann riviera - time to explore ,lunch on own , Back home round 5:30pm , time to rest ,dinner Pizza festival with own Pizzaiolo - 7:00pm
  9. Day 9: 22th Breakfast home , Time to finish Your works , Lunch 1:00pm ,afternoon is dedicated to pack , relax or take a massage .Late in the afternoon around 6.30pm we’ll create a gallery with all of your works presentation. You’ll enjoy this with a prosecco and our special snack. At 7:30pm there’ll be final dinner offering the best Tuscan cuisine. You’ll have a meal prepared by our chef alongside homemade limoncello.
  10. Day 10: Departure day. ☹ Breakfast at 8:30am. After breakfast, the group will be taken to Lucca train station or Pisa airport.

ABOUT THE ARTIST :

Dori Beth Josimovich is a self taught artist, her paintings are vibrant and impressionist with some imagination thrown in. She has studied under some international artists throughout the years such as Terry Armstrong, Tom Jones and Laurie Goldstein-Warren. Dori Beth has been watercoloring for over 25 years. In the beginning, she used art as a means to reduce stress for her nursing career. As time passed, art became her main focus. She has been teaching for over 10 years in her studio in southwest Michigan. Dori has had her work published in America’s premier watercoloring review, Watercolor Artist Magazine. Her work hangs in many private and public collections. I want viewers of my art to experience a feeling, rather then just seeing a subject. To evoke a mood or a memory is what life is all about. I look forward to spending time with each and every student. Together we will enjoy all the senses Italy has to offer and feed our souls

Your Tuscan Experience

Our 10 day courses are held at the beautiful old farmhouse , on the idyllic historical hill overlooking the city of Lucca.

Tuscany is one of Italy’s best-loved regions. Its beautiful countryside is reminiscent of the landscapes of Renaissance masterpieces. Along with rolling hills and vineyards, it also offers a rich artistic heritage including exquisite art and architecture – not forgetting premium wines and delicious cuisine.

It is suggested that you fly into Pisa/Florence airport beetween 3-5pm as our transportation for the workshop will be coordinated from there .
